Origin[]
Zhu Yijun(1563 - 1620), known as the the Wanli Emperor , was the thirteenth emperor of the Ming dynasty of China. His reign was the longest among all the Ming dynasty emperors and it witnessed the steady decline of that dynasty. Yijun was considered the laziest emperor to ever rule as he refused to play the role of emperor in government. Instead he would delegate his responsibilities to his servants who eventually created their own faction. Yijun would rather lie in his quarters eating and drinking instead of going out that he missed important government functions, even missing his own mother's funeral. When he died he was buried in the Dingling Mausoleum among the Ming tombs. The tomb was excavated in 1956 but due to the poor technology at the time most of the tomb was lost. Only a few bones of Yijun were recovered.
