Origin[]
Yuri Gagarin (1934 - 1968) was a Russian Soviet pilot and cosmonaut who was the first human to journey into outer space when the Vostok spacecraft completed an orbit of the Earth. Unknown to Gagarin, one of the shields broke during reentry due to the extreme heat. One of the items he was allowed to wear in space was his lucky Lieutenant Pin, which he wore to the launch from Luostari Airbase because he felt it helped him survive the terrible weather. The pin once again was his good luck charm, as instead of the frictional heat roasting Gagarin alive, the pin instead absorbed it keeping him alive. Researchers were amazed that even with the crack Gagarin survived the landing.
Effects[]
The user becomes resistant to high temperatures above normal operating standards. They will suffer no burns or scaring, although extreme dehydration can occur. Removing the pin will cause the user to suddenly feel claustrophobic, even if in an open area.
