Origins[]
Wilton Ivie (1907–1969) was an American entomologist and arachnologist, who described hundreds of new species and many new genera of spiders, both under his own name and in collaboration with Ralph Vary Chamberlin. He had many arachnids (Taxa) named in his honor, most of which he described.
Effects[]
This notebook, when touched, opened, or read, causes phantasmal arachnids, and rarely spider-like insects and insectoid creatures, to appear from the very words. While very realistic, even creating noises like chittering and hissing, as well as having what seems to be normal arachnid sentience, as evidenced by moving around, creating ghost webs, etc., these spectral spiders are incapable of causing any physical harm. These spiders can also be seen by anyone, not just the activator. This makes the artifact somewhat difficult to pinpoint.
Trivia[]
- This artifact was encountered and later neutralized by agents Garrett Scott and Brady Brown in the RP: "An Agent Paradise".
- This artifact's effects can be "negated" by wearing Joseph Wolpe's Glasses. (The effec's aren't stopped, but wearing the glasses negates the fear that is experienced by some who see the spiders.)
