Origin[]
William Kogut (1900 - 1930) was an inmate on San Quentin's death row who managed to kill himself with a pipe bomb made from a deck of playing cards. Kogut was awaiting execution for the murder of Mayme Guthrie, who ran a rooming/gaming house he often went to. Kogut murdered her by slashing her throat open with a knife after he lost a lot of money in a game of chance.
Effects[]
Red cards (Diamonds and Hearts) cause explosions when removed from the black cards (Spades and Clubs). Deck must remain in new deck order to prevent accidental explosions.
