Origin[]
In response to the conquests of Caesar, many Gaulish and Germanic tribes skirmished against any Roman legion they encountered. Vercingetorix headed the Averni and formed a coalition with the other continental Celts. Attacks on frontier troops were swift, and no town within the warzone was left standing for fear Caesar would salvage their resources. Except for Avaricum. It was heavily fortified, but the barriers were broken through and ended in a near total massacre. The capital city of Gergoiva was in turn protected by a larger army and survived.
Alesia was bombarded by all sides with Roman trenchwork, trapping in the townspeople and Vercingetorix’s forces. Help came in too few numbers while their general was trapped within a walled fortress. Vercingetorix commanded his troops to flee and surrendered himself upon Caesar’s camp. Imprisoned and paraded as a living trophy for six years, Vercingetorix was finally strangled per Roman custom.
Seen briefly in the episode “Fractures” where Claudia is climbing the mess of crates and is shocked by the passing spear.
Effects[]
Empowered by the sheer might of halting the Roman powerhouse from gaining any advantages off Gaulish lands. Razes small towns and complex bases into cinders. Channels the indignation a wielder and their allies feel into a powerful electric charge, capable of frying electronics and igniting infernos. Building supports are damaged and provisions become charred dust.
Destruction happens on territory controlled by both enemy and neutral parties to prevent future collusion. The user however suffers an equally bad setback – they are unable to physically leave their occupied area. Conditions outside the border make escaping impossible during every attempt. Enemies can easily overwhelm the user into capture or surrendering.
