Origin[]
Valerie Solanas was a radical feminist who authored the “SCUM Manifesto” and later attempted to murder the renowned and eccentric artist Andy Warhol. She lacked strong family bonds and spent part of her early life homeless. She moved from Maryland to California after a college and began to write her manifesto, which urged the overthrow of the government, economy and male sex. She later moved to New York City in the 1960s and had an unhappy work relationship with Warhol, who seemed indifferent to her writing. Believing Warhol and her publisher were conspiring against her authorship, she bought a gun in 1968 and shot Warhol three times; only one shot injured him. Solanas was charged with attempted murder, assault, and illegal possession of a gun, diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and pleaded guilty, spending three years in prison.
Effects[]
Causes schizophrenia and feminist thoughts in those who read it, often leading to violence. Effect will last for three years unless it is neutralized. An upside is that the reader's writing and acting skills will be improved.
