Origin[]
Recovered from the home of Reverend Larry MacDuval, a well-loved member of the Port Canaveral community. Later in his life he developed a severe case of paranoid schizophrenia which he kept hidden from his friends and family. This caused him to believe those around him were plotting his death, a psychosis that became imprinted on the pot stand he grew his well-tended flowers on.
A series of "accidents" occurred to neighbors and visitors before MacDuval snapped, exposing his condition and causing the hospitalization of three close friends. Warehouse agents were alerted several weeks later when the artifact, which had been sold by MacDuval's family following his admission into psychological care, began affecting an otherwise unrelated person in the same way.
Effects[]
The artifact only activates once at least one podium has been used to hold a plant pot that contains a healthy living plant. After roughly three weeks of constant exposure, the victim will begin to experience intrusive paranoid thoughts. These usually involve people associated with the victim, usually those close to them, and are always focused on the idea that the persons are plotting to harm the victim.
These thoughts will eventually compel the victim to preemptively seek vengeance on the individuals, ranging from minor inconveniences to their lives to aggressive assaults. Limited evidence suggests the number of plants held and their quality of care might affect the intensity and speed of the effects.
