Tirumalai Krishnamacharya was an Indian yoga teacher who is commonly referred to as the Father of Modern Yoga. He is regarded as an influential teacher of true yoga, healing of the body and discipline of the mind. He promoted its healing properties through feats such as making his heart stop beating. Many of his healing sessions involved examining the body as a whole to determine the affliction and whether the patient trusted his guidance. If they didn’t, he felt it was likely they wouldn’t be healed.
