The Quantum Bus[]

Origins and method of locomotion unknown. It has been sighted on several occasions, but moves on too quickly for any form of containment to be employed. All reports are constant, it phases into existence as if emerging from a fog, runs down one of more people and vanishes. Reports indicate it travels at a steady speed of 90 miles-per-hour and has no driver. Persons hit by the Bus vanish immediately, as do any physical record of their existence prior to the event. Only those who witnessed the event or interacted with the victim(s) within an hour of the incident will retain any recollection of them.

Any foreign objects do not follow the Bus when it vanishes, making electronic bugs and other such devices useless. Where it goes, how it gets here, and how it remains in motion are unknown. It is theorized that it travels via a collection of poorly-understood quantum principles, owing to its name.

Its nature makes it impossible to contain and predict, though its' visits are often seen as rather fortunate "accidents" by those who knew the victims. It has yet to run down anyone important or with good intentions, giving it a vigilante-like reputation. Sightings and studies continue.
