After returning to the canon timeline, Bri and Tyler had something many couples never get, two extra years of their relationship crammed into a few hours. Upon seeing how far their relationship had progressed, Escher decided to follow the Manual on such cases. This lead him to call in an audit on their relationship. Part of the test included Claudia and Blaine being commissioned to build a 'two-way emotional radio' for Bri and Tyler using the Zeta-wave technology.
While at first, the two could handle the shared emotions of anger, sadness, and glee, issues with the zeta-waves began to occur. When Bri was forced into a match of dueling fiddles against The Devil's Golden Fiddle, rather than Bri's soul being put on the chopping block, Tyler's was. It was Bri's ability to play off the audience to support her that saved Tyler, restored the souls of those who had lost theirs, and neutralize the artifact.
Later, memories for each other's pasts started to share with each other, but an update by Blaine and H.G. Wells stopped an assimilation of psyche from happening.
Later, when chasing down the person behind stealing the souls, Bri took Tyler's and stashed his on the villain. She then placed herself in the firing line of the villain, and supposedly lost her soul. In reality, she remembered the 'Golden Fiddle Incident'. Instead of stealing Bri's soul, the villain instead sealed his own soul away.
