Origin[]

Smokey and the Bandit was an action comedy movie premiering in 1977. The premise is a man known as "The Bandit" who is hired to run a tractor-trailer full of beer across state lines from Texas to Georgia in 28 hours, while avoiding the law on the way. With his fast car, he keeps the attention of the law while his partner keeps the trailer running.

In the 1970s, Coors was illegal to sell east of the Mississippi River because it wasn't pasteurized and contained no preservatives. Hollywood stuntman Hal Needham was working on the set of Gator and was given a gift of (illegal) Coors, and after awhile he noticed bottles disappearing from his trailer. Realizing the maid was stealing two bottles per day, he thought it would make a good movie. His roommate at the time, Burt Reynolds, helped to get the movie made.

Effects[]

The effects only activate when placed into a fast car and the user has a desire to perform crazy impossible runs. The driver's urge to make an impossible run grows, and their charisma increases greatly to convince those closest to them to assist them in their run. The artifact also sends out waves along the connection of the radio's range that increases the likelihood of non-police users assisting the user in making their run successful, while decreasing the effectiveness of law enforcement in catching the user.

Collection[]

A ping in November 2019 alerted the Warehouse to a driver known as "The Bandit" who was making crazy runs and avoiding law enforcement in a fast car. Agents Myka Bering and Pete Lattimer made several attempts to cut him off, but they were unable to stop the man before he ran off again. After several on-and-off attempts and the apparent changing of hands, the pair were joined by Agents Aden Taylor and Megan Wilcoxson in an attempt to stop The Bandit once and for all.

On January 3, 2020, the four were able to use (insert artifact here) along with Aden's spaciokinesis abilities to prevent the woman from escaping, there-by allowing them to finally snag and bag the artifact.

Notes[]

  • The artifact does not increase the user's driving skills. Both drivers who had possession of the artifact were noted by Miss Donovan to be incredibly skilled drivers before acquiring the artifact.
  • The artifact changed possession from a man to a woman sometime during the two months Agents were attempting to collect the artifact. It is unclear when or how the change occurred, though it was likely in late December 2019.
  • It is unclear whether the artifact was created before or after the movie came out, as the age of the radio dates to the 1970s.
