Origin[]

This artifact was based on the Chappaquiddick Incident, in which U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy accidentally drove his car off the one-lane bridge and into the channel below. Kennedy survived, but his 28-year old companion. Mary Jo Kopechne, had died by drowning in the vehicle that was submerged underwater. Kennedy later pleaded guilty at a federal court case, and was sentenced to two months in jail.

Effects[]

The turn signal, when installed on a vehicle, creates an electromagnetic pulse that takes control of the car and cause it to crash into the water. The driver will survive, but the passenger will die by drowning inside the car.

Collection[]

This artifact was collected from a car parts dealer. Apparently, one of his customers bought the turn signal and attached it to his car, causing his vehicle to crash into a river and drown his wife.

This artifact was mentioned in the episode Secret Services, where it was listed as one of the potential artifacts that could cause drowning.
