Total Drama Island sets in a fictional titular reality show that follows the competition of twenty-two teens at Camp Wawanakwa, a fictional island located in an unspecified area in Muskoka, Ontario. The campers participate in competitions to avoid being voted off the island by their fellow campers. At the end of the series, the winning contestant will win CAD100,000. The competition is hosted by Chris McLean, who is assisted by the camp's chef, Chef Hatchet.
The artifact was created by the dedicated fandom of Total Drama, developing the fandom's love of the island, the challenges, and more importantly, the drama that came with it!

When opened, the briefcase will teleport the user to Pahkitew Island, and cause the person to loose all hope of winning anything. The only way to deactivate it is to survive one of the show's Season Finale challenges (chosen at random).
The possible challenges are:
- The suck-lympics, (one must climb a flag pole and retrieve a flag, walk across a board on top of shark infested a water while carrying an eagle's egg, cross the finish line first. From Island)
- Pirate Movie Marathon (Clean up a bathroom stall, climb with your flag to the top of a greasy pole, launch yourself out of a cannon to the movie lot, go through a treasure hunt through all of the season's challenges. From Action)
- Hawaiian Sacrifice (Build a dummy made out of driftwood and pineapples to throw into a volcano. From World Tour)
- Chris-osseum Duel (Make a suit of armor out of various materials from a junk pile, duel your opponent, and pin him to the ground for three seconds. From Revenge of the Island. Opponent is a construct resembling a fusion of the final two in the season)
- Moats of Doom (scale a small man-made mountain that has four levels, the lower three each having a moat containing a different substance. Bottom level is toxic waste, level two has molten lava, level three has shark-infested water, level four is a platform with a sword in a stone under an archway. Atop the archway is a meatball cannon that will constantly fire at someone. Pull the sword to win, which will close the case automatically. From All-Stars)
