Japanese Bell depicting various types of spiders. Dotaku bells were often placed in fields where farmers would pray for a successful harvest. The insects depicted on this bell are natural enemies of the insect pests that attack paddy fields. When ill intent is in the mind upon praying swarms of spiders fall out of the Dotaku.
