Origin[]

As the last male of the House of Luxembourg, Sigismund constantly craved the rule of nations under his thumb. He achieved his wishes, making his way from Prince-elector of Brandenburg to King of Hungary, Croatia, Germany, Bohemia, Italy and Holy Roman Emperor. His advisors disliked the Hungarian inheritor for his use of foreign advisors and financial nepotism, imprisoning Sigismund several times. In 1396 his chance of redemption appeared in the last Crusade, to lead a coalition of Christian Europeans against Ottoman expansion.

Things quickly went wrong.

At Nicopilis, Sigismund’s army was vastly outnumbered, ill equipped and made a misguided last assault. Most of the troops were either killed immediately or after they were imprisoned, although Sigismund was one of the few to escape unharmed. He was deposed after his return, later ruling Croatia through massacres, gained good financial favor from Polish King Władysław II and unsuccessfully tried to reclaim the Hussite people. In honor of the Crusades and his “brave” command, Sigismund founded the Order of the Dragon to defend Christianity. It was composed mostly of allied nobles trying to prevent Ottoman takeover and internal instability.

Effects[]

Increases user’s ruthlessness, egotism and yearn for authoritative power. After extended usage, the wielder will develop a severe affinity for channeling devastation towards those who stand against their growth. Wearers with European ancestry can redirect fatal injury across multiple people at once, usually killing the victims in the process.
