Origin
Shelly "Shelvern" Vern Taylor (August 5th, 1772 - August 24th, 1833) was a street magician turned cook who lived in 18th/19th century London. Considered a terrible magician with a short fuse, the "Unwavering Shelvern" would perform extremely simple tricks that would almost always fall apart, almost always leading to raving anger filled rant of the nature of magic. Often cursing people over not believing in the existence of magic from "non-believers"
Shelvern's day job of working at a cookery proved far more greater then her magician's career. On one particularly angry rant, a onlooker called her a bad magician and a even worse cook. In a fit of anger, Shelvern threw this jar of peas at the onlooker crushing their nose and allowing a piece of bone to pierce their brain killing them. Shelvern was arrested shortly after grabbing the peas and hiding them in her cellar. The peas stewed inside the jar for over two hundred years, infusing the liquid with its volatile nature.
The original jar of black eyed peas were sealed in a old cellar before being rediscovered a hundred years later.
Effects
Shaking the jar causes the psychically charged peas to swirl around, creating a field of negative energy that causes those inside its field to go violently insane.
Collection
Collected by Arthur Nielson on October 15th, 2004 in London, England after the remodeling of a Insurance firm uncovered the cellar.
