Origin[]
Shaka kaSenzangakhona, also known as Shaka Zulu, was one of the most influential monarchs of the Zulu Kingdom. Respected by his people, he was able to spread his ideas with great ease. Because of his background as a soldier, Shaka taught the Zulus that the most effective way of becoming powerful quickly was by conquering and controlling other tribes. His teachings greatly influenced the social outlook of the Zulu people. The Zulu tribe soon developed a "warrior" mindset, which Shaka turned to his advantage.
Shaka's hegemony was primarily based on military might, smashing rivals and incorporating scattered remnants into his own army. This drum was either a result of his clever tactics or was implemented by the Zulu to make splintering warrior tribes easier.
Effects[]
When played, the sound resonates throught the area. Anyone who is not a part of the same tribe as the player will begin to turn on their own kind, picking on flaws and throwing insults until they begin to violently tear each other apart. In modern society, a 'tribe' seems to encompass any group of people aligned in a common goal or cause. This has been known to extend to policemen, family units and charity organizations.
Collection[]
Having somehow made its way to Seattle and into the hands of a group of troublemakers who had been using it to escape from the police, it was soon collected and returned to the Warehouse.
