Origin[]
Sergeant Vincent David Phillips (1955 - 1991) was the second in command of the Bravo Two Zero patrol unit. On a scouting mission in Iraq during the First Gulf War, they were supposed to set up an observation post on the Iraqi Main Supply Route. During patrol they were compromised by Iraqi soldiers and armored Personnel carriers.
While heading towards the Syrian border the patrol was separated and Phillips along with the patrol commander and another soldier raced north. The trio managed to hide in a tank berm; however, since Phillips was already showing signs of hypothermia they tried to find help. Although the other men tried to save their friend, Phillips passed away in the night. Unable to do anything for him since they were in enemy territory, the soldiers left Phillips behind.
Effects[]
Every firing causes a nearby person to develop hypothermia. Particularly harsh past sundown, spreading much quicker without any heat from the sun to balance out their core temperature.
