Origin[]

Roy Cleveland Sullivan (February 7, 1912 – September 28, 1983) was an American park ranger in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Between 1942 and 1977, Sullivan was claimed to have been struck by lightning on seven occasions, surviving all of them. The odds of being struck by lightning for over the period of 80 years have been roughly estimated as 1:10000. For this reason, he gained the nicknames "Human Lightning Conductor" and "Human Lightning Rod". Sullivan is recognized by Guinness World Records as the person struck by lightning more recorded times than any other human being.

As a young boy, he was using the scythe while cutting wheat when a lightning bolt hit the blade. Miraculously, he was not harmed. Sullivan later became the world record holder for being the victim of the most lightning strikes - seven, not counting the one as a child.

Effects[]

The scythe prevents the user from being harmed by electricity when it is held. However, the user will receive seven times the amount of electricity they would have avoided once the artifact is dropped.

Used during Spring Cleaning 2014 when John Carl Wilcke's Rug put out high volumes of static electricity and required a resistance increasing artifact to approach.
