Origins[]
Roger Federer (August 8, 1981-) is regarded as one of the best tennis players of the Open Era, and some consider him the greatest player of all time. He has many records, and won his first major title at Wimbledon in 2003. Over the course of his career, he has won a total of 17 Grand Slam titles and 87 titles overall. Despite being 34 at present, he is still playing strong and is currently ranked 3rd (as of October 28, 2015. Subject to change as needed.)
Effects[]
The Racket absorbed Federer's skills and gained the ability to alter the density of the user in accordance with the shots they are trying to make (not that the shots are NOT guaranteed to go in the boundaries). The user's skills are also drastically improved, allowing them to play with the skills of a pro tennis player. The increase in skills only lasts as long as the user uses the racket and only for the duration of one match (you can't use the racket for one match, then use another racket for the next match and be affected). The Racket also cannot guarantee wins.
Agents have noted that the racket needs to be played with every few months to keep it "happy", and it enjoys playing with people who enjoy the sport.
Collection[]
This artifact was collected in early May 2015 by new field agent Megan Wilcoxson and Myka Bering to get Megan used to the artifact world. The Warehouse received a ping from a school in Switzerland about a student who was suddenly played pro on a local tennis team. After some searching of the student's possessions, they found a racket which the boy had received from a friend, who had claimed to have received it from Roger Federer. In actuality, the "friend" was a small-time thief who had stolen the racket, not realizing it was an artifact. Thankfully, none of the other items the boy had stolen were artifacts, so he was left alone.
Trivia[]
- This artifact was the first that Megan Wilcoxson collected.
- With Artie's permission, Megan takes the racket to local courts every few months to keep it happy. She has made several notes about the effects as she has played with it, but never tells anybody she plays with what it actually is.
