Robert Langdon is protagonist of several of Dan Brown’s more famous novels, including Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code. He is a Harvard professor of religious and historical symbology and is portrayed as one of the foremost experts in the world. Langdon’s expertise somehow always manages to attract him the unwanted attention of powerful organizations protecting or exposing centuries long secrets. Some of his clients and enemies have included CERN, the Roman Catholic Church and Illuminati, Holy Grail seekers and protectors and the Smithsonian Institute.
He is also a champion swimmer who suffers from claustrophobia due to a childhood accident.
