When placed against a tooth that has a cavity or which has partially deteriorated, the Tools restore the tooth to full health as if it was brand new. The effects only work 32 times per person and do work on the same tooth more than once. Also, if the tooth has deteriorated too far-more than 50% gone-the Tools will have no effect.

Artie collected the Tools in December 1989 after hearing rumors of a dentist in Aurora, Texas who was able to heal cavities by only touching a tooth of a patient, as well as the lack of pain of any kind. Artie uses the Tools when needed.
