Origin[]
Raymond Albert Kroc was an American businessman. He purchased the fast food company McDonald's in 1961 and was its CEO from 1967 to 1973. Kroc is credited with the global expansion of McDonald's, turning it into the most successful fast food corporation in the world. Due to the company's growth under Kroc, he has also been referred to as the founder of the McDonald's Corporation.
After World War II, Kroc found employment as a milkshake mixer salesman for the food service equipment manufacturer Prince Castle. When Prince Castle Multi-Mixer sales plummeted because of competition from lower-priced Hamilton Beach products, Kroc was impressed by Richard and Maurice McDonald, who had purchased eight of his Multi-Mixers for their San Bernardino, California restaurant. Kroc would buy the McDonald's brand rights from the brothers, turning the restaurant into the first of a now globally recognized fast-food eatery.
McDonald's, in recent years, has become infamous for the poor performance of their ice-cream and milkshake machines. It is not uncommon to hear of these machines being either broken or currently being cleaned, especially during times of the year with high demand for these products.
Effects[]
When installed in a milkshake stand mixer this wand attachment causes an intense desire to enjoy a milkshake in nearby potential customers. It also, however, causes machines with a similar function nearby to break down or malfunction. The effect of the artifact spreads to those nearby the machines, causing them to inevitably become irritable when they are unable to purchase a shake at that location and driving them to artifact-equipped seller instead.
Perhaps due to the rapid spread of the McDonald's brand, the artifact also spreads its effects quickly and over a large area. This can cause significant civil unrest if allowed to grow, as the demand for shakes becomes more aggressive as more people fall under the effect whilst the available supply becomes limited to a single location.
Collection[]
The artifact was collected in 2014 by Agents Bri Repindata and Myka Bering (with support from Agent Lattimer) from a small vintage "milk bar" style restaurant that had recently opened in Ronaldston, Oklahoma. The agents were en route back to the Warehouse when they became ensnared by Jhamil Haddir's Ashtray. They were able to successfully neutralize the ashtray artifact, closing a Warehouse cold case that had claimed the lives of many prior agents. The remains of the deceased agents, the various artifacts they had been transporting upon their disappearances, the ashtray, and the mixer wand were all safely shipped to the Warehouse.
