Origin
Plaek Phibunsongkhram was Prime Minister of Thailand and virtual military dictator from 1938 to 1957. He supported fascism and nationalism in an effort to progress and advance his country to make it look modernized to the western world. During World War II, he joined the co-belligerent countries fighting with the Axis powers but did not issue an official statement or treaty.
After the war ended, he assumed power by ousting then Prime Minister Khuang Aphaiwong. In contrast to his first premiership marked by support of fascism, he instead switched to democratic systems. His rule suffered from many successive coup d'états from angered citizens and outside nations.
Effects
When someone with a governmental position wears it, they can greatly alter their country’s form of government. They can convince their leaders and rise through the ranks of power, induce successful debates and legal reforms or cause the people to overthrow their leaders. The current ruling leaders of the country, whether a king, president, parliament or military, will experience multiple coup d'états in quick succession.
