Origin[]
"America's Funniest Home Videos" is one of the longest running reality shows on television. In the show, the host presents a variety of funny clips sent in by viewers. The audience then is given a choice between three of the funniest videos, and the one that wins the most votes wins the prize money.
Effects[]
Watching the VHS tape will make the user hear an announcer narrate every little mistake they make, sometimes before they happen. Whether or not the tape causes these mistakes is still unknown. Every mistake is followed by an audience laugh track. This becomes grating on the nerves after a short time.
Collection[]
Myka was inadvertently "whammied" by this artifact during collection from a thrift store. When the sales representative played the tape to prove it still worked, Myka did not avert her eyes quick enough. By the time she returned to her hotel room to retrieve her extra neutralizing bag, she had already stepped in dog poo, caught her coat in a taxi door, and was startled by a pigeon flying into her elevator window. To this day she still grinds her teeth at the sound of Bob Saget's voice.
