Origins[]

Selena was a famous singer in the eighties and nineties known for her hit Spanish and Latin music. Singing in a band, with her siblings playing guitar and drums, she gradually grew in popularity and fan base. She had eloped with her guitarist Chris Pérez in 1992, which her father disapproved of, but that did not stop her success. She later won a Grammy for Best Mexican/American Album that very same year. Selena was well known and loved in Mexico and southern states such as Texas, in which she sold out tickets for the Houston Astrodome. Meanwhile, she also opened up a clothes boutique in Corpus Christi, Texas. The manager of said store was Yolanda Saldivar.

Saldivar came to know Selena when she constantly asked Selena’s father is she could create a fan club for her. Selena’s father eventually gave in, with the club making Saldivar president. She was also made manager of Selena’s store, Selena Etc. After the Astrodome concert, Selena’s father discovered that money was disappearing, right into the pocketbook of Yolanda. They promptly fired her, lighting her fuse.

She lured Selena to her hotel, saying she would give back some financial documents. Yolanda shot Selena point blank in the shoulder, nicking an artery badly. Selena ran into the lobby with Saldivar chasing her, and a desk clerk called 911. Selena died that day, two weeks before her twenty-fourth birthday. Saldivar had been charged with life imprisonment for murder, with no chance for parole until 2025.

Effects[]

The remains of the gun were fished out of the bay by an unknown stranger. They floated around the midwest for months until they eventually made circuit through several gun shows. When the affects surfaced, a Warehouse agent was sent to snag it. Corrupted by Saldivar's greed, anyone who comes into contact with one or more of the pieces is consumed with inhuman greed. They will be driven to stop at nothing to get what they want ... including eliminating anyone who gets in their way. The effect can only be reversed if all of the pieces are neutralized.
