Origin[]
Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792 – 1822) was one of the major English Romantic poets, and is regarded by some as among the finest lyric, as well as epic, poets in the English language. On the 8th of July 1822, less than a month before his 30th birthday, Shelley drowned in a sudden storm on the Gulf of Spezia when a boat he was travelling aboard sank.
His wife at the time, author of "Frankenstein" Mary Shelley, believed her husbands death was not accidental. She noted that her husband had been sending her letters that grew in paranoia that someone was following him trying to learn how he acted to take over his life. The letters grew more and more scared until the very last one, post marked the 6th of July, which seemed completely normal and her know he was sailing home soon.
Effects[]
When picked up, an evil doppelganger is created. The twin will attempt to kill the original. Note tricks people into picking it up and reading. It has been recorded that the note will make noises, such as whistling, to draw someone close then the person's name will appear on the outside as if the note was addressed to them.
Trivia[]
Inspiration for the Twilight Zone episode "Mirror Image".
