Pamela L. Travers (9 August 1899 - 23 April 1996) was an Australian-British novelist who wrote the popular series of Mary Poppins novels. Travers was soon approached by Walt Disney about making a Mary Poppins movie. While not invited to the premiere, Travers showed up and reportedly found the film so disgraceful that she was crying and seething with anger by the end. It was these emotions, coupled with her love of her Mary Poppins character that created this Artifact
