The Original SNES Game Console with Super Mario World Game Cartridge is an artifact found within Warehouse 13.

History[]

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System console, or SNES, was the successor of the NES console, and was first released in 1990 in Japan, and 1991 in North america. This new game console was the first game system to have 16-bit graphics. The game within it, called Super Mario World, was also released in 1990 (Japan) and 1991 (North America). It first introduced the game character Yoshi, a dinosaur who could swallow enemies with his tongue.

Effects[]

When the user turns on the SNES console, it teleports them inside of the world of Super Mario World. The game play mechanics in the game world work similar to those in other platformer games. There are power-ups available to players, but there are also enemies which can try to harm the player. If an enemy strikes a player, or if they fall into a pit, they will lose a life. If a player loses all of their lives, they get a game over, and are ejected back into the real world. The people within the game world cannot leave until they complete the game or get a game over. When the player completes the game, or gets a game over, they are transported back to the time they were trapped in the game.

Trivia[]

  • This Artifact is based on the mechanics of the cursed Video Game from the recently-released movie "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle."
