Origin[]

These stones were said to be carved by the Aesir god Odin after discovering the symbols by hanging from the World Tree Yggdrasil for nine days while impaled by his own spear. The god often consulted the runes for guidance.

Effects[]

When removed from the bag with the intent to tell the future, they will predict it with perfect accuracy. Will not function properly, if at all, unless the user can only see out of one eye, and they do not appreciate being tricked.

Known "punishments" for being fooled include:

  • Wrong result.
  • Throwing themselves at the user (not just the ones drawn, but the entire bag as well)
  • ripping out an eye and THEN showing the intended reading, as if adding insult to injury
  • total blindness for the next nine days
  • painful shock
  • severe burn
  • intense frostbite
  • Random malicious curse

The runes also seem to function properly for anyone who has undergone a great pain, be it physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Collection[]

These stones were collected after their power lashed out at their unfortunate owner, violently tearing out his eye and cursing him. The guidebook to reading them, though not an artifact itself, was brought along.

Trivia[]

  • Juan Miguel is noted to be able to use them easily, possibly due to his emotional pain and depression.
    • Agents Steve Jinks and Arthur Nielsen are also believed to be able to use them, though this has not been proven.
