Origin[]

According to the Bible the Genesis flood narrative makes up three chapters in the Book of Genesis. As one of the many accounts of flooding in history it is the only one that suggests a force of global destruction. The narrative recounts God's intent to return the Earth to its pre-creation state, rebuilding the world using Noah's ark. This was a way to reverse creation in a way. The narrative goes on to discuss the evil of mankind that moved God to destroy the by way of the flood, the preparation of the ark for certain animals, Noah and his family and God's guarantee for the continued existence of life under the promise that he would never send such a flood again.

After the flooding ended it was said that Noah sent out a raven then two doves to see if the waters had receded enough for the family and animals to venture out. The first bird came back in a day with an olive branch. Seven days later the final dove went out and never returned. When Noah came out the ground was drying.
