Origin[]
The 2015 earthquake in Nepal was a natural disaster that killed more than 8,000 people and injured more than 21,000. The photos that surfaced showed that some doorframes still stood, adding the current misconception that doorframes are safe places during an earthquake. While this applies in adobe houses, it is NOT true for any other dwelling. The best protection during an earthquake is to get on all fours, crawl under a desk or table, protect your head and neck, and keep a hold onto your shelter to prevent debris from falling on you.
Effects[]
When a person stands within the doorframe and braces themselves he/she will be protected from seismic activity. However, the door is narrow and can perfectly protect only one normal sized adult.
Collection[]
Collected by Myka after rooms circulated about the door remaining up despite the fact that it had been reused in a non-adobe style house.
