These set of bandages with minor blood stains were used by the famous and inspirational Nelson Mandela, who also was also the very first president of South Africa. Spending over 30 years in various prisons for the crimes of inciting workers' strikes and leaving the country without permission. During his harrasment and various forms of mistreatment from the guards, he would use these bandages that were given to him for a single use, but he used them quite often for injuries sustained by the guards. The bandages aborbed the expression of freedom and peace that emitated from him and his beliefs.
