Origin[]
Mikimoto Kōkichi was a Japanese entrepreneur who is credited with creating the first cultured pearl and subsequently starting the pearl industry with the establishment of his luxury pearl company Mikimoto.
Effects[]
The pearls can turn any form of organic or particulate matter (plants, sand) into pearls. Any object will remain as one whole piece when the effects spread. The object will develop a nacre coating that is repeatedly layered within a short period of time. The object will continue to calcify until it is completely encased into an artificial pearl.
The process is noted to have a very painful reaction on living creatures. Strangely, they have no effects whatsoever on oysters - go figure.
