Origin[]
The Frankish people between the 500-800s, especially the ruling elite Merovingian dynasty, preferred the ‘’franscesca’’ as their primary weapon. A stocky iron axehead was thrown by warriors at enemy lines before engaging in any direct combat. Their hope was each strike would damage shields and injure troops, convincing enemies to run away in fear of a second wave.
Referred to as the “long-haired kings”, royals claimed their flowing locks as sign of divine right to rule. Rivals were often shaved clean and shuffled off to a monastery to wallow as a dethroned monk.
Effects[]
Changes density when thrown, allowing it to move with the lightness of a feather and strike with the blunt force of a toppled tree. The thrower can control the force whilst midair or right upon impact. Begins causing baldness in user starting at the crown of the head and reaching down towards the temples. Not really receptive to hair stimulation therapies.
