Location and Building[]
Near the entrance but out of range of the Artifact Exclusion Zone referred to as Xibalba, there is a cave entrance lined with chrysoprase. Synced carefully with the Quartz enhancement gemstone, the cave itself is disguised as a sheer rock wall.
Down the cave, lined with torches which will incinerate those not guided by a current member of the Warehouse, a small room holds what would be recognized today as the main office of the Branch. Passing through the rear door the agent will access the Mayan Branch proper: a large cavernous chamber which holds the small collection of local artifacts.
History[]
The Mayan Branch was created due to Warehouse 3 Agents Galerius Sepurcius Leon and Floria Sepurcius being stranded in Central America.

Enemies/Adversaries[]
- Xibalba: The AEZ was the primary enemy facing the Warehouse Branch upon its initial creation, and once again when it reactivated in 500 AD
- Spanish Invaders: The invasion of the Spaniards
Affiliates[]
- Warehouse 3: Superior, though never in contact
- "Caretaker": A role for the head of the Warehouse. Unlike the Caretakers of regular Warehouses, the Caretaker role here is a combination of Warehouse Caretaker and Agent Supervisor.
Events[]
Thankfully, when the Spanish raided the Branch, they did not touch any of the files, which remained almost completely intact until it was discovered and collected by Warehouse 13.
195-198 AD[]
- 8.7.15.15.18 (April 30, 195 AD): Former Warehouse 3 Agents Galerius Sepurcius Leon and Floria Sepurcius, having been stranded in Central America for several months with no way back to Rome, decide it is time to create a branch for the Warehouse to continue collecting artifacts in North America.
- 8.7.15.16.3 (May 5, 195 AD): Finding an empty cave a short distance away from {insert city here}, the pair officially found the Mayan Branch Warehouse. In honor of the Warehouse, they name themselves the "Caretakers" of the Branch Warehouse.
- 8.7.16.1.17 (July 18, 195 AD): Future Mayan Hero Twins Hunahpu and Xbalanque are officially recruited to the Branch.
199-205AD[]
- 8.8.0.10.8 (December 15, 199 AD): Agents Galerius and Floria attempt to enter Xibalba to disable it, but they fail and are captured.
- 8.8.0.11.10 (January 6, 200 AD): Associates Hunahpu and Xbalanque begin their assault on Xibalba.
- 8.8.1.14.3 (February 22, 201 AD): Associates Hunahpu and Xbalanque land the final blow on Xibalba, successfully collecting a dozen artifacts, freeing the captives, and neutralizing the AEZ.
- 8.8.1.14.6 (February 25, 201 AD): Hunahpu and Xbalanque, now known by the Mayans as the Hero Twins, graduate to "Agents".
- 8.8.1.16.8 (April 8, 201 AD): Caretakers Galerius and Floria officially recruit Eadrich and Akna to the Branch.
- 8.8.3.15.0 (March 1, 203 AD): Agents Galerius and Floria are killed while attempting to collect an artifact in the southern area of the Mayan territory.
- 8.8.3.15.16 (March 17, 203 AD): Mayan Twins Hunahpu and Xbalanque, having heard about the deaths of their Founders, officially take over as the Warehouse's Caretakers.
206-300 AD[]
- 8.8.10.7.8 (August 24, 209 AD): The Caretakers recruit Agents Xiang and Abha to the Warehouse.
- 8.9.7.15.18 (November 13, 226 AD): The Caretakers, realizing that coordinating Agents is more difficult than they realized, finally decide it's time to have someone immediately below them to oversee the Agents. They decide they should choose the only Agent who has survived several harrowing collections, Abha.
- 8.10.5.1.6 (October 23, 243 AD): Caretakers Hunahpu and Xbalanque die of natural causes. Per their dying wishes, Agents Hugo and Sacnicte are elevated to the position of Caretakers.
800-1500[]
- 10.0.4.10.2 (September 6, 834): The Caretaker Hai recruits Xpiayoc and Necahual to the Warehouse.
- 10.0.4.12.17 (October 31, 834): Agent Necahual, young and overconfident after a string of easy collections, makes the attempt to overtake Xibalba by himself. Agent Xpiayoc tries to stop him but fails.
- 10.0.4.12.18 (November 1, 834): Agent Necahual is killed. The Death Lords of the time use the Mask of Ah Puch to transfigure his body into a corpse and bind his soul to it, turning him undead. He is then cast back out of Xibalba.
- 10.0.4.12.19 (November 2, 834): Agent Necahual, embarrassed by the situation, returns to the Warehouse.
1500-1523[]
- 11.15.3.5.7 (May 17, 1523): Spaniards arrive in the region and lead an assault on Xibalba. In the confusion, the Branch attempts to hide most of the collected artifacts, only to fail as the Spaniards turn their attention and steal most of them, killing a majority of the staff in the process.
- 11.15.3.5.13 (May 23, 1523): A disguised Old Bone manages to recover a few of the stolen artifacts and hide them in the entrance of Xibalba until the Spanish leave the region, at which point he returns to their shelves (Old Bone recalls a sadness at seeing the nearly-bare storage area, once so full of wonder and chatter and then only holding artifacts representing the Death Lords who cursed him). As the only surviving Agent of the Warehouse, Old Bone takes it upon himself to defend what remains.
1961[]
- October 5, 1961: Regent Amelia Jones accidentally rediscovers the remnants of the Mayan Branch.
- October 9, 1961: Old Bone, having followed Regent Jones to Warehouse 13, reveals he is a former Agent.
- October 13, 1961: Old Bone is officially recruited to a protector of Warehouse 13.
- November 5-7, 1961: Old Bone and Agent Jones return to the Mayan Branch to collect all of the remaining files and officially close the Branch Warehouse, removing all traces that the location had been a Warehouse.
STILL PROCESSING
Technology[]
- Chrysophrase Concealment Arch: This archway, probably one of the only noticeably Roman parts of the Branch, is inset with several pieces of chrysophase, giving it similar qualities to the Masquerade Chrysoprase Pendant when in sync with the Gemstone Amplifying Quartz. When activated, the archway is concealed by the illusion of a sheer rock wall.
- Fire Opal Torches: These torches never go out, and assist in protecting the Branch against the unworthy, namely by incinerating those unaccomanied by an Agent.
- Amethyst: Used to induce an aura of calm around artifacts, acting as a weaker equivalent to Neutralizer.
Reasoning for Shift[]
Spanish Invasion[]
With the invasion of the Spanish Conquistadors, coinciding with the impending move of Warehouse 3, the Mayan Branch ceased regular operations, taking advantage of their invader’s preoccupation with Xibalba to hide all agents and seal the branch in favor of attempting to protect the Mayan People.
This attempt failed, as a large majority of the artifacts within were stolen, with only a select few protected by Old Bone, who had secreted them away in Xibalba itself, knowing the AEZ had no interest in him.
Notes[]
- Originally, the Branch operated with two Caretakers for the Warehouse. Caretakers in the Branch took on the roles from the original Warehouse structure of the Supervisor, Regent and Caretaker.
- This structure was changed in 226 AD, creating the position of Supervisor and separating it from the Caretaker.
- Between 763 and 1492, only one Caretaker was selected to lead the Warehouse due to the restrictions placed on collecting artifacts at the time and the lack of protection for the Warehouse.
- From 1493 up until 1523, the Warehouse had two Caretakers due to the news of foreigners landing from the ocean.
