Origin[]
Marc Antony was a politician and general who played a pivotal role in the transformation of Rome from an oligarchy to an autocracy. He supported Julius Caesar and participated heavily alongside Caesar in his campaigns. After his death, he allied himself with another general, Octavian, and formed a three man dictatorship known as the Second Triumvirate. They chased down the murderers of Caesar at Philippi and Antony was later consigned to Rome’s eastern states, including Egypt.
It was at this time he vied for greater political power and famously had a love affair with the last Egyptian pharaoh, Cleopatra. These acts strained Antony’s relationships until Rome sided with Octavian. Cleopatra was declared the enemy combatant and Marc Antony a traitor. After approximately a year of warfare, Cleopatra and Antony fled to Egypt and committed suicide. Octavian was declared the absolute ruler of Rome and the Roman Republic began with its first emperor.
Effects[]
Separating the aquila (eagle effigy) from the scepter will give off overwhelming feelings of delusional power. The user will think they are deserving of high praise and repute and will do anything to achieve it, losing all sense of empathy in the process.
