Origin[]
Louis XVI of France (1754 – 1793) was the King of France from 1774 until his deposition in 1792. He was guillotined on January 21st 1793. The year prior was when all of Louis' secrets came to light to reveal just how corrupt he had become. In November 1792 when a locksmith stepped forward revealing that Louis had an iron chest, also known as a hidden closet, hidden inside of his bedroom. Inside of the closet was a safe containing compromising documents and correspondence. The resulting scandal served to discredit the king.
The next month Louis was dragged into the streets and among crowded and silent streets was brought to trial. Those around were able to hear their former king be accused of high treason and crimes against the State. The verdict was made by the end of December and early next year he was killed.
