OriginEdit

Lobengula was the last king of the Northern Ndebele kingdom, a dissatisfied offshoot of the Zulus. He settled his right to the throne through assegai combat. Recorded as heavyset with many wives, neighboring tribes loathed the Matable for their continual raiding parties.

Lobengula tolerated white hunters and miners, agreeing to give the British access in return for weapons. After several years, Lobengula realized the mine owners had lied about their agreement. War culminated.

For much of the campaign, the British tracked days behind Matable forces before engaging. Lobengula succumbed to smallpox during travel and the remaining impis troops surrendered. Supposedly, an early surrender was made with a sovereign filled strongbox, but reports cannot confirm what really happened.

EffectsEdit

Covers objects, people and even the ground with a layer of gold. It occurs as natural nuggets and flakes of varying alloy compositions. More slashes build up a thicker matrix, encasing whatever it grows on. Also causes time to slow down within the immediate area, sometimes trapping people in a moment for hours or days.
