Lady Jane Grey was an English noblewoman who became the Queen of England for nine days, who claimed the throne after the death of King Edward VI of England. A few days after, she became Queen and sent a letter to Mary I of England to recognize her as Queen. This caused Mary to raise an army to overthrow Lady Jane Grey, which made Lady Jane Grey abdicate and pass the crown to Mary I. She was then charged with high treason and then executed not long after.
