When her sister is called forth to be in the Hunger Games, a blood 'sport' that pits two children from all twelve districts in a large arena where only one can survive, Katniss volunteers to replace her. In the arena Katniss uses her knowledge of hunting and archery to survive. However the next year she is once again picked to fight in the arena, this time she is saved by a group of rebels who want her to be the face of their rebellion. The immense pressure she feels is what causes the self doubt that is infused into her bow along wither her skills.
