OriginEdit

The SS Athenia was a steam turbine transatlantic passenger liner. It was the first UK ship to be sunk in Germany during WWII. It killed one hundred and twenty eight civilian passengers and crew were killed with the sinking condemned as a war crime.

However one person survived the ordeal, John H. Lawrence, the American physicist and physician who is best known today for how he pioneered the field of nuclear medicine. Though the average person could only breathe underwater for two minutes, Lawrence was found on the beach after being submerged for three hours as he escaped the ship. Aside from the clothes on his body he discovered that he managed to hold onto the pacifier that he bought for his newborn son.

EffectsEdit

When put in mouth/used it allows the user to breath underwater. It only offers air, not protecting against extreme temperatures or buffeting waves.
