Origin[]

James "Jimmy" Samuel Gibbs, Jr. is a minor antagonist that appears in Left 4 Dead 2. Jimmy Gibbs Junior was once a "famous" race car driver from the Southern United States, writer of at least one autobiography called SPEED, and considered an idol in the eyes of Ellis and Coach. The Survivors steal his stock racing car to escape the Liberty Mall at the end of the game's first sequel campaign, Dead Center. He is dressed in his racing suit and only spawns in the Atrium (the map in the campaign's last chapter), with only only a 33% chance of spawning in atrium every 15 days.

Coach considers him to be "as famous as Elvis or the president". He is mentioned by the Survivors briefly, saying things such as "If we see him, someone else is going to have to kill him". If Ellis spots the zombified Gibbs, he will exclaim a devastated reaction. Nick makes a point of cursing Jimmy Gibbs Jr's name regularly, normally when something goes wrong with his car.

Effects[]

Lets the occupants have a sanctuary from danger in the midst of ongoing turmoil. Feelings of desperation and terror keep any damages at bay for the passengers. The car may dent slightly, but it will hold out against outrageous amount of impact damage or throngs of attackers.

Causes all attackers face to resemble famous figures, whether well known or fictional. The vision of suddenly seeing a renowned popstar, scientist, leader and their favorite character attempting to violate their safety will disturb them to no end. Doubt often creeps in as to whether they wish to flee, bunker up or get out of dodge.

Kept with the resurrection artifacts in case of a zombified horde requiring a temporary safe zone before quelling an outbreak.
