A whip used by Jesus the Nazarene.

Origin[]

Jesus the Nazarene was a well-known figure and hated by the Temple Priests in Jerusalem in the early first century. He was first noticed in approximately the year 27 AD when he went into the Temple around the time of Passover and attacked the money changers, who were using unfair exchange rates to rip off pilgrims coming for the Passover celebration. The whip absorbed his anger at the unfair desecration in the Temple.

Appearance[]

The whip is made out of cords of rope tied together.

Effects[]

When held in any holy place where people are doing unfair things, it increases the anger of the holder as well as their strength, causing an intense outburst. The anger is only directed towards those committing the injustice, however. Any person who is being mistreated will not face any harm.

Collection[]

This artifact was one of the few collected by Warehouse 4, acquired shortly after the Warehouse moved to the Hunic Empire, after reports of someone using a whip to attack unfair traders in a Buddhist Temple in India. When the agents got there, they found the whip and took it back to the Warehouse.

Real World Connection[]

The historical Jesus of Nazareth (5 BC-30 AD) lived in the Jerusalem area and is believed by Christians to be the Son of God; others believe he was a prophet, and still others believe he was just a well-known man. Jesus was known for his preaching and his immense knowledge of the holy words, which resulted in the Temple high priests having him crucified by the Romans. Little is known about the Jesus of Nazareth, and the only factual stories available only reveal where he went, what he is believed to have said (not counting the Christian Bible as a source), and how some events went down.
