Origin[]
Jenny Lind was an opera singer known as the “Swedish Nightingale”, was one of the best-liked operatic singers in Europe at the time. She became famous in the 1830s and retired in the 1840s at 29 due to vocal chord damage. In 1850, circus showman P. T. Barnum invited Lind to America, where she performed 93 concerts and later toured under her own guidance. She made over $350,000, donating the money to free schools in Sweden and later lived the rest of her life in England.
Effects[]
Applying the makeup increases the vocal capacity of the wearer, giving them a powerful voice and stage presence. After removal, the user suffers damage to the vocal chords that will cause muteness unless immediately attended to.
