Around the 1630s in the Netherlands, contracts for a share of the tulip harvest steadily rises and then suddenly collapses. Most people consider this the first economic bubble. During that time the most expensive tulips sold was of the Semper Augustus variety.
Effects[edit | edit source]
Causes the prices of random stock market commodities to suddenly rise in value for no apparent reason. When the flowers blossom, the whole stock market will collapse.
