OriginEdit

James Ben Ali Haggin (1822 – 1914) was an American attorney, rancher, investor and a major owner/breeder in the sport of thoroughbred horse racing. Haggin made a fortune in the aftermath of the gold rush and was a multimillionaire by 1880. Using his money Haggin owned the Rancho Del Paso horse farm near Sacramento, California as well as acquiring Elmendorf Farm in Lexington, Kentucky. Due to the love of horses he developed it into the largest horse breeding operation in the United States of its era. Any time one of his horses ran they broke the top three every time.

EffectsEdit

Predicts winning horse races when ink leaks onto a newspaper racing column. With the rise of digital and televised rosters, the ink will react to specific names by turning fluid and moving when their name is mentioned.

TriviaEdit

Inspiration for the Twilight Zone episode "What You Need".
