Origin[]
Josef Allen Hynek was an astronomer and professor who heavily researched into the phenomenon of UFOs. When he first began his studies, he denied their existence and quite enjoyed debunking outlandish theories. But when many incidents proved beyond a hand-waving explanation, backed by some astronomer’s professional opinions, Hynek started to slowly change his mind. It was during this time he participated in several U.S. Air Force studies concerning the nature of UFOs (Projects Sign, Grudge and Blue Book).
With later independent research, he developed his own theories on their origins and developed the close encounter scale to organize events. Hynek was later consulted by director Steven Spielberg to help write his alien movie, ‘’Close Encounters of the Third Kind’’, named after a level on the scale.
Effects[]
Projects the images of UFOs into the sky. Although realistic looking from the ground and air, they are just visual tricks without any tangible mass. Some of the user’s long-held opinions will be subject to a gradual shift towards the opposite end of the argument.
