Origin[]
Torn in two, this warrant was presented to Irene Morgan when she refused to comply with the desegregation laws while riding a bus. She consulted attorneys and won her case in the Supreme Court, declaring segregation laws on public transportation in Virginia unconstitutional. Her efforts helped inspire the Journey of Reconciliation and Freedom Rides by the Congress of Racial Equality, where African-Americans refused to leave segregated public buses in protest of racial inequality.
Effects[]
Each half holds an equal share of noncompliant force, and people exposed will rebel against any authority that tries to control them. Re-uniting the two halves only makes things worse, while ignoring them will dampen the anger.
