Irma Frederic was the original Caretaker of Warehouse 13 before the title passed over to her sister, Irene Frederic.
This necklace was given as a gift to Irene sometime before the fire. On the opening day of Warehouse 13, a combination of Hans Christian Andersen's Mechanical Nightingale and design issues from Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, and M.C. Escher, resulted in a catastrophic fire beginning within the Warehouse. As Univille citizens fled and Agents and Regents alike worked to contain the fire and keep the citizens safe from a possible artifact disaster, Irma rushed into the building to help. Afraid, Irene followed her.
After searching for some time, Irene found Irma as flames began to consume surrounding shelves. She tried to get her to leave with her, but Justine refused and insisted on staying to help. As Irma shouted at her sister to leave for safety, the pearl necklace around Irene's neck glowed, and in a blink she appeared several yards away from her sister. She watched as the burning shelves collapsed where she stood with her sister moments before, and a shockwave reverberated throughout the Warehouse.
Ever since that day, and after claiming her new role as replacement Caretaker, Irene Frederic has worn this necklace as a reminder of her sister.
Effects[]
This necklace allows the wearer to "pop" from location to location silently at will. However, it can only work with someone who is a Caretaker of a Warehouse, and if they are disconnected and replaced, the necklace will not work for them regardless of their past connection until they are reinstated. The pearls will also not work if there is any sort of conflict between multiple Caretakers, whether or not only one is officially connected, such as a past Caretaker being active at the same time as a current one.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown how Claudia Donovan, future Caretaker of Warehouse 13, was able to teleport while wearing a different necklace (a string of skulls reminiscent of Irene's pearls).
- Although the necklace only works when worn by Caretakers, Irma was able to make Irene teleport, although Irma was not wearing it and Irene was not yet Caretaker.
